Welcome back to the Brainstorm Show! This episode is a bit self-indulgent, but I’m sure our listeners will allow us to recompose ourselves after Wilson Hunter grabbed his 2nd Legacy GP Top 8. Next episode we look forward to coming back with a deck tech on Shardless BUG. Stay on the lookout.

2 Questions.
1. Have you tested infect and what do you think about the deck?
2. I own a Unlimited Ancestral Recall, and I am selling it. Are you interested? (I’m european btw)
1) We have tested the deck some and have tested against it a lot, and we all think the deck is quite good. I personally feel like it is somewhat similar to Delver but better-positioned against more decks. I also think it’s a good way to attack the Miracles menace.
2) We are mostly trying to trade random “basement bulk” to shops/vendors for power at this point without spending cash, but thanks for letting us know!
Was excited to see your name on the columbus top 8 , wish I could’ve watched a match or two. Keep up the great work guys and congratulations.
First and foremost congratulations on your wonderful finish.
I’m going to be testing this deck in my local meta in preparation for the SCG Open event in Worcester. Will you guys be posting the updated sideboard on social media or here?
Hi Scott,
Sorry for the slow reply, but here is an updated sideboard map for some of the more common matchups with the changes +1 Preordain, +1 CSpell, -2 Predict, SB +1 V Clique, -1 Spell Pierce.
Mirror:
+1 Mountain
+4 Pyroblast
+2 Flusterstorm
+2 Vendilion Clique
+2 W/T
-4 Swords to Plowshares
-4 Terminus
-2 EE
-1 Plains
Grixis/RUG Delver:
+1 Mountain
+4 Pyroblast
+1 Wear/Tear
-4 Force of Will
-2 Counterspell
This is sort of variable and depends on how many artifacts you think your opponent is boarding in. In the dark this is what I do, but I would board in the 2nd WT over a Preordain for g3 if I see Winter Orb. I would not do that for just Needle though.
BUG Delver:
+2 Flusterstorm
+2 Vendilion Clique
-4 Force of Will
Death & Taxes:
+2 W/T
+1 Entreat the Angels
+2 Vendilion Clique
+1 Mountain
-4 Counterbalance
-2 Counterspell
Eldrazi:
+2 Blood Moon
+2 W/T
+2 Vendilion Clique
+1 Mountain
-4 Counterbalance
-2 Counterspell
-1 Plains
Storm:
+2 Flusterstorm
+1 Surgical Extraction
+4 Pyroblast
+2 Vendilion Clique
+1 Mountain
-4 Swords to Plowshares
-4 Terminus
-2 Plains
Sneak and Show:
+4 Pyroblast
+2 Flusterstorm
+2 W/T
+2 Vendilion Clique
+1 Mountain
-4 Swords to Plowshares
-4 Terminus
-2 Engineered Explosives
-1 Plains
Lands:
+2 Blood Moon
+1 Surgical Extraction
+2 W/T
+1 Mountain
-4 Terminus
-2 Counterspell
Elves:
+2 W/T
+1 Entreat the Angels
+2 V Clique
+2 Flusterstorm

Shardless BUG:

I know you guys have been working on an excellent boarding plan for the field in the big event especially in an unknown field, but how do you feel about a more meta-game specific sideboard? Looking towards the SCG Open here in Worcester the typical field is saturated with Miracles and Lands. Do you think it would be worth modifying the sideboard slots or just sticking to the plan to have a better game plan against the field?
I would personally stick to the stock list. You could try to make room for one more Surgical for Lands, but I think you would sacrifice too much overall by doing that. The deck has a solid SB plan for the mirror, so you don’t really need to change anything for that. In general I think this deck’s strength is having a strong gameplan against a diverse field of decks which is probably what you will run into at an Open. Good luck!
Hi Guys
Awesome content as usual.
Listen to your podcasts always and appreciate the effort and quality content you guys provide.
I have been tweaking a mentor miracle list, but yours fit the bill pretty much. As a player who no longer has an LGS due to me moving to outskirts Denmark, I have picked up the deck on MODO, resulting in a top8 legacy challenge and 5-0’ed 2 of my last 3 leagues.
On a pseudo related note, I see the Nahiri lists popping up a lot. Mt take is that I would rather play Dack Fayden over Nahiri. I played a DackTales deck (Dack Miracles +Fire/Grove) when I still was able to go to my LGS and it really shined, going top4 4 out 5 tourneys (~25mans) Any thoughts on this?
Thanks again and greetings from Denmark
Christopher / jedigof
That seems like a really cool deck, Christopher. In general I agree that 2-3 mana cards like Punishing Fire and Dack Fayden do more for you than making your Miracles list clunky with 4+ mana cards like Nahiri and an unplayable Emrakul. I am not a big fan of the Nahiri decks I’m seeing, although they certainly have merits in the mirror. Your DackTales list sounds sweet to me.
